Just realized thatI perhaps should bake somelittle more "drier" cookiesfor Christmasas well.I otherwisetendto bake sweets withchocolate andcream, but for variety's sake, I have also made somecaramel cookies today.Nofavorite of mine, but certainly goodto dip incoffeeor something.
200gsoftbutter 200grams of sugar 300grams of flour 2 tspbicarbonate of soda 2 tablespoonssyrup 2tsp vanilla 1 egg(lightly beaten) Here's how:Cream the butterand sugartogether.Add flourandremaining ingredients(mix together allthe dryfirst).Stireverything togetherintoa nice, smooth dough.Roll thedough intofingerthick"sausage" as long asthe platetheyshall bebaked on(about 8-10 pieces). Add4ston thefirst sheetthat youcovered withwax paperand flattenthefingers. Do not put themtoo close toeach other, asthey willgrowoutduring baking.Bake at180 degreesC, in the center of the ovenfor about 10 minutes. Cut in to slicesdirectly as they are takenoutofthe ovenotherwisesolidifiesandtheywill be hard togetnice pieces.
