Caramel cookies

Just realized that I perhaps should bake some little more "drier" cookies for Christmas as well. I otherwise tend to bake sweets with chocolate and cream, but for variety's sake, I have also made some caramel cookies today. No favorite of mine, but certainly good to dip in coffee or something.

200g soft butter
200 grams of sugar
300 grams of flour
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tablespoons syrup
2 tsp vanilla
1 egg (lightly beaten)
Here's how: Cream the butter and sugar together. Add flour and remaining ingredients (mix together all the dry first). Stir everything together into a nice, smooth dough. Roll the dough into finger thick "sausage" as long as the plate they shall be baked on (about 8-10 pieces). Add 4st on the first sheet that you covered with wax paper and flatten the fingers. Do not put them too close to each other, as they will grow out during baking. Bake at 180 degrees C, in the center of the oven for about 10 minutes. Cut in to slicesdirectly as they are taken out of the oven otherwise solidifies and they will be hard to get nice pieces.
