Chocolate cake with liquorice cream

The main purpose of today's baking was to capture on picture the wonderful peony that is blooming in my garden right now. Peonies are my absolute favorite of all the flowers and this special pink one will always remind me of people I love. Peonies are old medicine plants and the name comes from the doctor Paion in Greek mythology, God of medicine. Breathtaking!

Here comes the recipe for licorice cream only as you can used any chocolate base you want.
Licorice cream:
400 grams of milk / dark chocolate
1 cup warm water
1 cup cocoa
4 teaspoon of licorice powder
350 grams of butter
2 cups powdered sugar
Here's how: Melt the chocolate over a water bath and cool completely. Mix 1 cup of hot water with cocoa and licorice powder and stir well. Set aside and let cool. Beat the powdering sugar with the butter until it gets a fluffy. Add the melted chocolate and cocoa mixture. Whisk for a few minutes until you have a smooth and soft cream. Ready  to fill the cake bases or just use on top as I have done today.
