There are many differentkinds of flowerswhichare edibleand which can becrystallizedforlateruse as decorationon cakesorpastries. Got a tipthe other dayaboutthe lilacflowers beeing one ofthese, and since itisin full bloomright now, I just hadto try it.The result is soincredibly cute.....although itwas only fun to maybe dothe first 20pieces....hahaha.....a realtestof patience, but still worth your while.
Pickthe flowers youwantcrystallized. Whip upsomeegg whiteswith a fewdrops of water.Just do itgently with afork.Brushthe flowerswithegg white(I dippedmyinthe egg white instead) and rollinsugarafterwards.It is important thatthe flowerswill befully coveredto preserve the color, otherwise they will bebrown. Letthe flowersdryto the next day. They will then becamehard andcrystallized.Keep themin a jar.
