Baguette

If you are getting ready to bake the baked sausages I have shown in previous post, you can take the opportunity to double up the ingredients for the dough and bake a few baguettes as well. It was really good with both cheese and seeds on top. Give it a try! The recipe below is enough for 2-3 baguettes.

25 grams of yeast,
3 cups water;
1 egg
2 tablespoons olive oil,
500 grams of flour,
1 teaspoon salt;
egg to glaze,
grated cheese or seeds for garnish.
Here’s how: Dissolve the yeast in 37 degree heated water. Stir in the eggs and oil. Add flour and salt, mix well and let rise under a cloth for half an hour. Divide the dough into 2-3 portions and shape into baguettes. Place on baking trays lined with baking paper and let rise again half an hour. Brush with egg and sprinkle with seeds or cheese, or why not both. Bake for about 20 minutes at 225 degrees.
