200 grams butter,
5 cups sugar,
2 tsp vanilla sugar,
2 pinches of salt
1 cups cacao,
3 cups flour,
marzipan in any color. Here’s how: Melt the butter. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper. Whip eggs and sugar (use the electric mixer). Mix in flour, cacao, salt and melted butter and stir until smooth. Add vanilla sugar. Pour the paste into the baking tray. Bake in oven at 200 degrees, for about 20-25 minutes.
Let cool completely and feel free to use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes (I chose the heart). Roll out the marzipan on silicone mat or with patterned rolling pins and cut out the same shapes as the cake base. Assemble the cookies and marzipan covers with little fruit syrup mixed with powdering sugar in between. You can use vanilla cream or butter cream instead if you want, to put together the cookies ......
There are several ways to make patterns in marzipan. I prefer to use rolling pins or silicone mats for this, which I buy online or hobby stores.
