Gingerbread house

This is my gingerbread house for this year. The construction may not be as fancy, but I chose to spend time on the details of the decoration in stead. They, however, took me about 2 hours to make, for each side ... (away calculated from the times I failed, that is ....) Have been a little obsessed with learning how to make the lace with which I've dressed the house .. It is done freehanded of glaze that I make of egg whites, icing sugar and some lemon drops. With a steady hand and a lot of patience, I was finally ready to put it all together today, after about 2 weeks of preparation. The roof is made of a few hundred small pieces of sugar paste ... I am sooo happy that I finally finished, and will really get to sleep well now, for the first time in 2 weeks. All the best to you all!
